If you're really worried, you could set up a scheduled task common to all computers across the organisation that forces at reboot in the middle of the night.ĮDIT: On meeting room computers, we actually use group policy to remove the "Reboot" and "Shutdown" options from the start menu. Often computers will be rebooted as WSUS pushes updates out overnight anyway. We never have any performance related problems from leaving computers on. We are running old hardware, and we find it cuts down the amount of complaints if the computer is "on" after a couple of seconds instead of a couple of minutes. Change the task’s account to NT Authority\System and select the Run whether user is logged on or not option. Name your task and provide a description. Select Update
